When discussing issues with co-workers, are you a careful listener?

Proverbs relates, "He who answers before listening--that is his folly and his shame" (Proverbs 18:13 NIV).

Effective listening is the key to efficient communication. Often, we may be so focused on making our next point that we fail to hear what we are told. We need to stop, make eye contact, and focus on what we are being told. Only when the speaker is done should we then think through our response. Our colleagues will know that they have been heard, and we will have generated the most effective communication possible.

In the Word

Proverbs relates, "He who answers before listening--that is his folly and his shame" (Proverbs 18:13 NIV).
